Event Program 2018

Iran Financial Future Summit

The Iran Financial Future Summit is a technical summit designed to drive progress in addressing Iran’s banking and finance challenges. The event is being designed in consultation with the European External Action Service.

At the present time, many of the interrelated challenges pertaining to Iran’s monetary policy, including institutional compliance with domestic and international regulations, trade and investment promotion campaigns, and operational excellence within banks and financial firms, are being addressed through separate and uncoordinated efforts. A lack of perceived progress on many of these issues has led to doubts among global financial institutions about the advisability of engaging the Iranian financial system as part of typical trade or investment activities. International banks remain hesitant to provide services related to Iran, and this has limited the scope of Iran’s post-sanctions economic recovery.

Envisioned as a one-day multi-stakeholder summit bringing together key policymakers and business leaders, the summit combines aspects of a conference with technical meetings to create a unique program. This will be the first event to bring together stakeholders from across the EU’s 27 members stakes to meet their Iranian counterparts.
